What can you do to help yourself?

What can you do?

We never know when an emergency may happen, that requires us to leave our home.  There are some things everyone can do to be prepared for an evacuation:

·        Understand your local risks.  What do you live near?  Some examples might be:

o  Do you live in a coastal flood risk area?

o  Do you live a railway line?

o  Do you live near an industrial site?

Once you understand or know what potential risks you live near, is there anything you can do to prepare for them?  For example can you fit property level protection for flooding to your building?

Even if we don’t know what our local risks are, we can all benefit from preparing an emergency GRABBAG (Link out next)
