Small business owners are invited to a free event to learn about support available for their staff.

The Tendring4Growth event, run by Tendring District Council (TDC), aims to help SMEs who already have staff, or are looking to recruit, with information about support schemes.

Topics covered during the event include information on current legislation, advice from a human resources perspective, and employee support schemes.

Taking place from 10am-12noon on Thursday, 14 March at the Sunspot, in Jaywick Sands, the event is free – though people are asked to sign up in advance to help manage numbers.

Ivan Henderson, TDC Cabinet Member for Economic Growth, Regeneration and Tourism, encouraged business owners to attend.

“Many small businesses may have a great idea and be looking to expand, but be daunted by the complexities of employment law,” Councillor Henderson said.

“This event is the perfect way to get a better understanding of the landscape, and hopefully reassure small business owners of the benefits of hiring employees to help them expand.”
